PASTORAL DEPARTMENT
The Pastoral Department is responsible for the administration of the Church.
It comprises: the Pastor, the Head Elder and other the Elders, the Deacons
and Deaconesses and the Church Clerk.
THE PASTOR
The Pastor is responsible for guiding the spiritual direction of the Church,
chairing the chuch board meetings, leading out in services as well as to teaching,
nurturing, and equipping members for fulfilling God's commission and serving
as the spiritual shepherd for God's people (Ezek 34: 4) - strengthening the
feeble, healing the sick, bandaging the hurt, bring back those driven away and
seek those who are lost.
THE ELDERS
The elders are largely responsible for the running of the church in the absence
of the Pastor, including serving as the spiritual leaders of the church and
conducting ordinances. Some of their specific responsibilities include the following:
- Leading the church into a deeper and fuller Christian experience.
- Conducting services of the church and ministering to the Church in word and doctrine.
- Fostering the work of all other departments and programmes of the Church, including giving counsel and help to Church officers fulfill their responsibilities.
- Promoting harmonious relationships and fellowship among church members.
- Visiting the church members, ministering to the sick and encouraging those who are disheartened.
- Fostering the world mission work, including by presenting the needs of the missionary work to the church and encouraging members to take a personal part in both supporting and working for the cause of the world missions.
- Encouraging the church members to return a faithful tithe.

Specific
responsibilities of the Head Elder:
- In the absence of the Pastor, act as the minister of the church and as chair of the church board.
- In the absence of the Pastor, conduct the services of the church or arrange for someone to do so.
- Assisting the Pastor in the pastoral work of the church, including the conduct of Church services, communion service, child dedications, anointing services
- Informing the church of all regular and special offerings, and should promote all the programs and activities of the church
- Ensuring that relevant reports are accurately and promptly forwarded to the Conference
Other Elders:

Responsibilities
of the Church Clerk:
- Serving as Secretary to the church board and business meetings.
- Handling membership transfers, including the correspondence between individuals seeking transfers and the churches with which the transfers are being made.
- Facilitating the addition and removal of members from church records at the request/ approval of the church.
- Corresponding with Members, including keeping in touch with absent members.
- Furnishing relevant reports to the conference secretary, including membership transfer reports.
- Maintaining and safeguarding the Church records, including minutes of business and board meetings, the church officer list, and the list of church members.

Responsibilities of the Assistant Church Clerk:
- Assisting the Church Clerk and acting in her absence.
- Developing and updating the church directory.
