Mission Statement

Purpose and goals of the AY department

The general goal of the AY department, as defined in the SDA church manual 16th edition, is to develop the youth to become active leaders in the church. The AY department is a training ground for youthful leadership that will someday be in charge of the whole church. This goal is rooted in the individual understanding his/her nature and purpose that is further rooted in the axiom that mankind is created in the image of God whom is endowed with His creative spark. Furthermore, as Christians we have the mission of spreading the gospel to all of mankind. The AY department will operate with these principles in mind. Programs will be established for 2006-2008 with a cohesive integrated mission in mind. We will not put on programs for the sake of putting them on. The thrust of our programs will be geared toward the reconstruction of the family and church as key institutions that develop and nurture the individual’s concept of God, thus bringing each person closer to Him.
