Adventist Men Prayer Breakfast Meeting
The Westmount Adventist men attended an inspirational breakfast meeting on April 23, 2006 at the Westmount SDA Church . Citing powerful men from the bible such as Gideon, Elijah, Solomon and David, Pastor Cousins challenged men to rise above the barriers that affect their confidence and zeal to serve God. These, he said, include: spiritual weakness, a lack of formal education, social and family background barriers, procrastination and coldness/lack of social charm. In closing he quizzed: "Are you ready to change the landscape?". A committee comprising: Bros. P. Gatama, H. Goddard, D. Benaine, L. Reid and E. Greaves, was elected to assist Bro. G. Knight in steering the Men's Ministry. The Committee will meet soon to finalize the work programme for the Ministry. All men were encouraged to submit views and urged to come upfront. For further information, contact: Bro. Glen Knight, Tel. (450) 466-3350.

The Circle of Friends Raise Funds for the Montreal Children’s
The “Circle of Friends” organized a concert on May 6, 2006 at the Westmount Church and raised funds in support of the Montreal Children’s Hospital (MCH). Started by one the long-term patients of the hospital, Vanessa Williams, the Circle of Friends has organized four similar annual fundraising events for the MCH over the last three years. This year’s concert featured: the Westmount Joy Bells Choir, the New Life Church Children’s Choir, the United Choir, Aaliah Fraser and Alyssa Walton. Speaking at the event, the representatives of the MCH, Ms Jane Thompson and Phyllis Djoboulian, underscored the role that volunteers and supporters, such as the “Circle of Friends” play in sustaining the MCH. They said: “Each gift received is a message of hope and support for the important work that is done at the hospital”. They added: “… your contribution is helping to create brighter, healthier future for our young patients”. They thanked Vanessa and her family for bringing to the Circle of Friends and the participants at the concert for attending. The funds raised at the event will go towards supporting genetic research and the neurological department. For further information and donations, contact Vanessa Williams at: 514-487-3315
