Westmount Church Welcomes its New Senior Pastor
By Bro. Erie Tamale
On January 3, 2009, the Westmount SDA church welcomed its new senior pastor, Orlando L. Patterson, his wife Diane and their two lovely daugthers, Athalia and Allyson. Pastor Patterson succeeded Pastor. Emile Maxi, who was elected Secretary of the Quebec Conference of Seventh-day Adventists in October 2008.
The special installation service and prayer was conducted by Emile Maxi. Pastor Maxi described the process that led to the calling of Pastor Patterson to the Westmount Church. He wished Pastor Patterson and his family a successful ministry at Westmount.
In his maiden sermon, Pastor Patterson preached on the "Power of Unity". He cautioned church members and leaders against the spirit of competition which caused rivalry and disunity among the desciples as they argued over who was the greatest among them (Mark 9:30-37).
Pastor Patterson was born in Kingston, Jamaica. He holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Religion from Northern Caribbean University and a Master of Arts degree in Religion from Andrews University, Berrien Spring, Michigan, U.S.A. Currently, he is pursuing the Doctor Of Ministry Degree in Evangelism and Church from Northern Caribbean University.
Prior to coming to Westmount, Pastor Patterson served Central Jamaica Conference of S.D.A. as district Pastor and Departmental Director for over seventeen years. He has conducted Evangelistic series in Jamaica, Canada, U.S.A. and Manchester England.
Pastor Patterson can be reached at telephone number: 514-481-9554.
